If it makes you feel safer, I guess. I didn’t have any problems, but you never know. You get everything back afterwards, and I haven’t heard of any common glitches that buck that trend. No Mutants Allowed. I remember talking to a Fallout 3 fan right after Dead Money came out. He warned me, «Don’t get Dead Money, it’s stupid and it crashes, and you don’t even get to keep the reward at the end! That said, so much of the criticism of Dead Money seems to be centered around the «lack of rewards» and seems to come from the lowest common denominator of Fallout 3 fans, entitled brats who can’t appreciate anything. I would like to begin by addressing the «lack of rewards» claim and explaining how incredibly false that claim is. First off, the gold at the end of Dead Money isn’t the real reward of the content pack. In reality there are three rewards, two material and one immaterial. When one considers that 1, chips are awarded to the player twice a week in-game, and that the player should already have a few thousand chips from gambling at the Sierra Madre Casino, that means he or she will have a never ending supply of Stimpacks, super Stimpacks, rad-x, rad-away, food, alcohol, weapon repair kits, and even. Additionally, the armor and weapons found in the Sierra Madre are incredibly powerful. Of course, we need also mention that the Police Pistol is the strongest concealable weapon in the game, and the Holo-Rifle, if maintained properly, is a doomsday device of incredible proportions. To this effect, I have no idea why people were complaining about the equipment in Dead Money. Sure, it’s no unbreakable Power Armor and electrocution sword, but it’s still some of the best equipment New Vegas has to offer when used as a complement to vanilla equipment. Of course, there is another reward attached to Dead Money: the experience itself. Dead Money brings a whole new environment and gameplay mechanic to Fallout: New Vegas. From the design to the ambiance to the writing, it is clear that Dead Money was made because the developers wanted to make it, and weren’t going to dumb it down for anybody. There is the key to Dead Money, and indeed all of New Vegas. The developers were passionate about the source material, and demonstrated a deep interest and understanding of the material with which they work. While the purpose of any DLC is to make money, it is obvious that the developers cared more about making a complete and thought-provoking experience than about turning out a half-baked product to make a quick buck. Dead Money had a great atmosphere and a clever, multilateral story that tied the history of the Sierra Madre Casino to its present. The premise and plot were far, far deeper than «kill Chinese Communists to get some weapons», and for that reason, the experience of Dead Money is just as valuable as rewards taken from it. Plautus , Apr 23, Don’t forget the best reward: Learning to let go. But it was the only way to get out. And in the end, it didn’t affect me negative- it was positive, because I have been able to return to the mojave wasteland and not ending up locked in the vault. Lexx , Apr 23, I wanted the gold, but mostly just so I can put it on a shelf and have it look pretty and unique.

The only thing I disliked was that you had to run to certain «safe» places to avoid the radio signals, some which were shielded and indestructible. Others I had to spend 5 minutes to run around a corner, try to spot the signal in seconds, and run back if I couldn’t find it, then repeat.

This kind of style is not what Fallout is. Then there’s the jumping to find a safe zone at the very end and equiimpment many monsy before finally finding the right spot to be at, again not in the spirit of Fallout. Otherwise equimpmejt DLC is good. Mauno View Profile View Posts. My favourite DLC. I absolutely loved the change of pace and atmosphere, although I can see why some people wouldn’t like it, as you actually need to stay alert, especially on hardcore mode.

Doom View Profile View Posts. It’s boring, and there’s nothing but bulletsponge enemies. The only good thing is typing player.

Solitudent View Profile View Posts. New mechanics were introduced, which is a good thing for DLC if you ask me and they keep you alert all the time. The atmosphere was deav. I can’t possibly understand why people don’t like it. Biohazard View Profile View Posts.

I disliked the fact that you Can’t go back after you finished it The other DLC’s didn’t have that so why did this one. Other then that, I enjoyed the DLC. Also the fact that you had to be carefull about what you say or do around Dean so he doesn’t turn hostile without being able to do anything about it.

Law View Profile View Posts. It’s fun at first but quickly becomes annoying on Hardcore mode at. And then it just drags on and on and you wish you had never entered because you just want to be back in the mojave. Once was enough for me, and I hate that I’m always stupid enough to do it again on a new playthrough because «Maybe I’ll enjoy it this time». Last edited by Law ; 26 Mar, am. Gotta agree with the other posters, fun DLC but the Villa drags on and on and gets really old after a.

That bit in itself is enough to turn me off of going through it. Last edited deae theBlackDragon ; 26 Mar, am. Steve View Profile View Posts. I know right? It’s actually my favorite DLC. What I miney stupid though was taking all your sht. They takingg have at least given it back halfway through the dlc.

But I guess you can use mods. My favorite part was actually losing everything I had for mlney duration of the DLC. Part of the reason my personal completion makez of games used to be pretty low was because once I hit a certain point of power in the game’s economy, I usually lose interest and start again because nl gives the type of challenge I like, with decent equipment being rare and supplies scarce.

Dead Money gives that sense of challenge in the middle of the game, which really makes me enjoy it. A lot of the gripe people mention above are actually reasons I liked it — but I’m weird that way. I did note that the police pistol has a better-than-average chance of causing dismembering, especially if you get the drop on the ghosts — Equipmment think they designed the game to steer you towards using its weapons.

I guess some would say it’s a flaw, but my glass-half-full take is that designing a ‘preferred’ playstyle may encourage players to get out of their own comfort zones and try doing things a bit differently. TL;DR — I ded it. Originally posted by Lord Vic :. Last edited by Mauno ; 27 Mar, am. Navarre View Profile View Posts. Equimpmeng haven’t played it yet, I just bought the Ultimate Edition some time ago and am not equimpmfnt willing to go in this DLC, mainly because of what I read about it: hard as heck and not too fair about it.

However I finished Old World Blues, and some things I disliked about it look like they apply to it. So, without further moneh, my two cents First, gamers usually don’t like too much unexpected gameplay changes.

When you play a shooter and don’t like racing games, for exemple, the last thing you want is your shooter becoming a racing game halfway. Similarly, when you play a Fallout, you may not want to be taaking into a Resident Evil without warning.

Simple enough, yet developers seem to have trouble to uderstand it. We buy certain types of games because we like them, no need for these gameplay experimentions bullcrap. Then, as a rule, most people don’t like when you change the rules on.

If you learned to play the game and enjoy it a certain way, being forced to play another way might not please you. To use my OWB experience, having my lovingly crafted cowboy sniper built for finesse and not strength be forced to use a goddamm doggie minigun weighing 27 pounds all along the DLC because it was the only weapon she could find ammo for, beside a 44 totally takng in face of the bulletsponge enemies detecting me from 3 miles away and shooting me perfectly while I wasn’t even able to see red spots on my compass with 7 Perception or rushing me and eating me in 5 seconds was NOT something I enjoyed.

I managed, but I didn’t like it. The only moment I truly enjoyed playing in the whole DLC was when I picked my trusty brush gun back from the locket with the few ammos I have left from when I entered the DLC and used it to pump the final boss full of holes. Now it’s. I’ve just started Honest Hearts and I’m having a blast strolling around in my leather armor with my Medicine Stick: that’s how I want to play the game, like some hardass surviving senxe, and that should be my choice.

I don’t care if someone wants to pump tribals full of plasma in full power armor. Mondy power to them if that’s what they like to. Oh, and lastly: bulletsponge enemies moneyy a big no-no. There’s nothing that I hate more than enemies who moneg die when I empty full clips in their face. It’s just fake difficulty, silly and boring. Last edited by Navarre ; 27 Mar, am.

I ended up liking it. But I did hate the map layout. I got equuimpment many times. Originally posted by azxcvbnm :. Per page: 15 30 Date Posted: 26 Mar, am. Posts: Discussions Rules and Guidelines.

Fallout New Vegas Dead Money Heist of the Centuries part 3 of 7 Navigating the Vault

I guess I should blame myself for getting a used game, but after the final quest when I go to leave the game will load for a few seconds then take me to a black screen and my Xbox freezes. The way the press release is worded, and obsidians insistence on an absolute ending, what are the odds this will be a new character? Obviously, for the sneaky, Gold Bars are a pretty sweet prize, but for those unable or unwilling to glitch these treats out of Sierra Madre, Dead Money left a lot of people feeling a bit unfulfilled. As I’ve suggested before, Eqyimpment think an electric hot plate in your Lucky 38 suite would be a great, utilitarian reward for completion. Any other ideas? Ho shit! It would be excellent to see the evolution of the Follower of the Apocalypse, of the Boneyard since Fallout 1 yearsBlades, Gun Runners etc I can’t wait! Nakes will probably be set in a new area, the timeline starts to shift early, sooo. What Bethesda and Obsidian should do is iron out all the numerous bugs that FNV dead money taking equimpment makes no sense chock full of before even considering the release of DLC packs which is something I should point out Bethesda ultimately failed to do in Fallout 3 on the PS3. Even after Mothership Zeta was released there were still an unacceptable number of game ssense and freezes i should also mention that Fallout 3 has crashed and or frozen on me more times than any of my other PS3 games combined with New Vegas being the only possible exception.
