Do YOU have a fun use for Lego?
Remember Me. My boys love, love, love to save their money. It kind of makes me laugh to see them counting their dollars and coins and keeping them stashed away in a safe place. This LEGO bank is the perfect place for kids to store their cash or other treasures that are important to them. I love how these LEGO banks turned out! You could totally customize their faces to look however your kids want them to look. For any jar you choose to use, wash and dry it completely. Trace the top of the jar onto the cardboard and cut it out with scissors. Use hot glue to affix the card board to the top of the jar. Recipe Rating. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. I chose to make two different banks — one with the lid that enables my savers to open and add their money and another without a lid that requires no temptation to dive into the savings! Next, on a protected surface, and in a well ventilated area, spray your jars and lid with yellow spray paint. Let set for about an hour and check on the jar. Touch up any spots you missed. Let dry and flip over to spray the bottom of the jars and the other side of the lids. Set aside to dry completely, about another hour. While the paint is drying, use electric tape to cut out eyebrows, eyes and a mouth for each of your jars. I wanted sunglasses, so I drew and cut out a little paper pattern before tracing the pattern onto the electric tape. Then, use a marker as a template to trace a circle onto your electric tape and cut out the eyes. For each piece of electrical tape you use, cut it longer than you think you need it, maybe 2 to 3 times longer. And last, stick your facial features onto your jar and press down firmly. Let your kids customize their faces or add other features and accessories. About the Author: Kara.
Introduction: Lego Money Bank
Create a fun Lego money holder for gifting cash for birthdays, graduation, and Christmas. It is amazingly simple. Once kids get to a certain age, they tend to want big ticket items that may not be in the ballpark of the budgets kept by grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, or even parents. While some may look at this as commercialism grabbing hold of our children, I look at it as an opportunity for blx to learn the value of a dollar — and how to save!
You may already have seen the Chocolate Box of Money that my aunt originated so many years ago, but have you seen the Lego Money Holder? I believe leggo originated as a way to gift Lego without choosing the wrong thing.
You know how frustrating it can be for a kid to get a duplicate of a Lego set he already. A money gift is a great idea. And this one combines the best of both worlds! Sharon made hers out of black pieces, purchased in bulk from the Lego store. Amazon has bulk Lego as. Check out this post for tips on bulk Lego buying. Roll up a bunch of one dollar bills and fit them in the omney. You could make your box any size really. If you made it wide enough you could fit a roll of quarters or an assortment of coins.
Keep that in mind. The birthday boy minifig pictured here is no longer available, but there is no shortage of cool Lego figurines. And there you have it! That, my friends, is the best of both worlds. This is a great idea! This will be great for my own Lego-loving kids and will probably save me a trip to Target the next time one of my kids is invited to a birthday party.
I thought this was a very cool idea so I tried it this Christmas. So, I gave him a version of this very idea but with multi colored bricks and the mini-fig stand as the top. This is a place where moms can be themselves. Remember that each mother’s path looks a little different. Please keep your comments respectful and kind. Reasonable minds will disagree in a nice way.

Make sure that maek legos connect to each other in a way that they will not break apart or separate easily. The top was made in a somewhat intricate fashion.
