Queensland is phasing out its old learner driver exam with teens now facing a new online test, which even experienced drivers might find a bit tricky. L-platers facing tricky new test. Young Queenslanders hoping to get their learner driver permits will now be facing a brand new test, which may prove a bit tricker than the old written exam. The PrepL test is fully online, a big change from the question written exam, and means people can complete it on their computers, tablets or phones. To pass the PrepL exam applicants will have to get 90 per cent or above and will have to answer a noney of questions as well as participating in interactive scenarios. Transport and Main Roads Minister, Mark Bailey, said the new and improved test is designed to improve prell road safety knowledge of young drivers. Unlike the old test, the new exam covers more areas than just basic road rules. The new test focuses on educating drivers about proper behaviour on the road, rather than just basic road rules testing. The PrepL eLearning program will take learners through a hour online interactive course that includes simulated driving scenarios and powerful real-life interviews with those affected by fatal car crashes. PrepL is being developed in collaboration with the Department of Transport and Main Roads by Croomo, a pioneering Brisbane technology company. Croomo Chief Growth Officer Daniel Bermingham said a team of up to 20 designers, artists, developers and strategists had been working on PrepL for almost two years. Mr Bermingham believes the eLearning program is a proud world-first capable of ensuring our next generation of drivers are better prepared for the road than any before. Learner drivers will cover the Fatal 5; signs and road rules; sharing the road and driver values. They will unlock each section as they progress by correctly answering questions on each topic.
